​ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

The campaign to re-elect Bert Perello to the Oxnard City Council, District 1 is committed to ensuring that www.bert4oxnard.com (the “Site”) is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe every Oxnard resident should be able to learn about Bert's campaign, get involved and get in touch, regardless of ability.

1. Our Commitment

We aim for the Site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the widely recognized standard for web accessibility. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning and neurological disabilities.

2. Measures We Have Taken

  • The Site is built on the Wix platform, which provides built-in accessibility features such as keyboard navigation support, screen-reader-friendly markup and a “Skip to Main Content” link for keyboard and screen-reader users

  • We use descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images where practicable

  • We use headings and semantic structure to organize page content

  • We offer the Site in both English and Spanish

  • We periodically review the Site for accessibility issues as content is updated

3. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known areas that may present limitations include:

  • PDF documents linked from the Site (such as endorsement announcements), which may not be fully accessible to all screen readers

  • The image slideshow/carousel in the endorsements section

  • Content on third-party sites we link to, including our donation page and social media, which we do not control

 

We are working to address these limitations over time and welcome feedback that helps us identify additional issues.

5. Technical Information

This Site relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and features provided by the Wix.com website platform. Accessibility of the Site depends on the underlying accessibility of Wix's platform as well as our own content choices, and on the web browser and any assistive technology used to access it.

6. Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may have additional rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or other applicable law. We encourage you to reach out to us directly first so we can try to resolve the issue.
